A few years ago, one of my favorite fishing buddies and I drove down to the Seward area on an exploratory trip. We were looking for a new stream to fish. After parking the car, we took a short hike through the trees on a trail which led to the stream. As we emerged, we were presented with this wonderful scene. It took my breath away. I quickly snapped a picture.
The desire to "hold onto" moments like this are a large part of why I took up painting.
This painting hung in The Anchorage Museum as part of their Biennial All Alaska Juried Art Show.
